Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Oakland at 3343 Lakeshore Ave, Bardo Lounge & Supper Club offers a captivating blend of American cuisine, artfully crafted cocktails, and an inviting lounge atmosphere that effortlessly marries mid-century charm with modern sophistication. This thoughtfully curated supper club experience invites diners to embark on a culinary journey rich in texture, flavor, and artistic presentation.

The menu is a celebration of inventive American fare with a dynamic twist. Before your main course, savor the Deviled Eggs topped with braised short rib, beets, dill, caper, and a crispy apple accent—an intriguing fusion of creamy, savory, and bright notes that delight the palate. The crispy cheese plate, accompanied by savory apple sauce, black garlic aioli, and a refreshing shaved fennel and celery salad, offers a nuanced balance of flavors that's as comforting as it is inventive.

For the main event, dishes like the Squash Risotto present a gorgeously layered combination of kabocha squash, guajillo, pumpkin seed pesto, lemongrass, mint, coconut, and crispy sage, marrying earthy and aromatic qualities in perfect harmony. Vegans and vegetarians will find thoughtful options such as the Teriyaki Tofu, which pairs marinated tofu with seared bok choy, roasted baby carrots, and a rich Thai-style peanut sauce, delivering a satisfying, umami-rich experience enhanced by toasted peanuts and crispy shallots.

The cocktail program at Bardo is equally mesmerizing, featuring signature stirred drinks like the Back Porch Old Grand Dad Bourbon infused with black tea and mint syrup or the smoky complexity of In My Room, which combines Ilegal Reposado Mezcal with heirloom pineapple amaro and tiki bitters. Each cocktail is an artful balance of classic technique and bold innovation, providing the perfect complement to your meal or a standout evening on its own.

Guests consistently praise Bardo Lounge & Supper Club for its alluring atmosphere—a beautiful, mid-century modern interior that feels both intimate and effortlessly stylish, making every visit feel like a special occasion. Whether it’s an anniversary celebration, as Jamie Li experienced with sparkling wine and attentive service, or a casual night out soaking up the lively vibes and creative drinks, the lounge offers an experience that feels personal and memorable.

Reviewers rave about the expertly prepared dishes and personalized approach to dining. Valentina Guadalupe Becerra Martinez highlights the rich, perfectly balanced chicken liver mousse paired with strawberries, while popmonkey calls out the incredible ribeye and vegan risotto. Scott P. Hu’s reflection on the juicy burger and fresh Oakland Caesar salad reflects the robust, quality-driven culinary philosophy at work here. Coupled with attentive, professional staff who bring a touch of funk and warmth, Bardo strikes a flawless balance between high-end refinement and welcoming comfort.

Went for our anniversary and had such a lovely meal! They kindly brought us some sparkling wine to celebrate. Such a nice touch. Very pretty atmosphere. We got four apps, two entrees, and a dessert and loved everything. Decided not to do the dinner party because we wanted to choose everything and we were happy with our decision! Our favorite was the ribeye, deviled eggs, and salad. The gnocchi was good but overcrowded with other ingredients which felt distracting from the pasta so probably wouldn’t get again. Also we are picky about our fries but they were done perfectly!!!

All I can say is just wow. The vibe of the place was amazing and each dish was out of this world. Honestly up there as one of my top dining experiences of my life. My friend and I did the dinner party for $80 each where we were brought 4 appetizers, 2 main courses, and 1 dessert and every single dish was delicious. I can’t pick a favorite they were all so tasty. An absolute must try if you’re in the bay

Food: food was fantastic we ordered the salad with strawberries, the chicken liver mousse, the chicken and grits and the sole. The chicken liver mousse was delightful and so rich, you HAVE to try it with the full combo of strawberries and the bread it is so well balanced. Our favorites were the chicken and grits (the mushrooms are such a great addition to the dish) and the sole, it has such a different asian flavor profile. We both wished the dishes had a bit of spice (perhaps a sort of sauce on the side, we think it would help cut the richness) but overall fantastic food. Come with an empty stomach, portions are good and food is rich. Service: our waitress was fast and very kind, she had great recommendations Atmosphere: the place is well lit, bathrooms are clean, decor didn’t have a clear line that we could follow that could perhaps be tied to the style of cuisine or menu but we enjoyed the experience Would 100% recommend and come back for a special occasion

Bardo is a place I’ve wanted to try for awhile… while the outside is non-de script, the interior of this restaurant is beautiful. It has a fantastic mid-century vibe and a beautiful bar. I ordered the burger and the Oakland Caesar while my wife ordered the Winter Salad and the fish. All four of our dishes were delicious… the burger was juicy. Service was good and very attentive. All in all, this might be our new date night spot!

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to, and I'm not exaggerating. Hard to overstate how good this place is. My wife and I made reservations the day before we went and we managed to get a cozy place on the bar. We got the "We Wish You Amaro Christmas" cocktail and I believe it's now my favorite cocktail ever. We ordered the salad, the risotto, and the halibut. Everything absolutely delicious. Like mind-blowing delicious. Fantastic atmosphere and great service. Prices are high, but not that high given the incredible quality of the food. This place is an absolute gem. Can't recommend it enough.

Food and drinks were good. Enjoyed the fries and crispy cheese. The duck breast was also tasty. Our server was Shannon. She was great and super attentive. Also patient. We were kind of hanging out catching up and not paying attention to the menu and she gave us a lot of grace. The vibe is super cool. Like stepping in to the 1950s. Loved it.

We live locally and walk by this place all the time, so finally decided to come in! We had 7:15pm reservations on a Thursday, but had to wait about 15 minutes as the tables before us were not done yet. A couple with 7pm reservations arrived after us and were seated immediately, so maybe arriving late is the way to go. Once inside, we ordered two of their cocktail of the week - love that they have that, and it was pleasant. We also opted for the $80 set menu-type thing - it has a cute name but I can't remember what it was. This was a great choice - it was really good value when you look at the other prices, and the food was overall solid. The best things were definitely the local melon salad, the croquettes, the pickled vegetables, and the apple cake dessert. The two main courses were pretty "meh", sadly, hence knocking a point off. The waiter did say that you can tell them you don't want tofu in the fixed price menu, which is a great tip that we'll remember for next time. Overall, we'd return! We also had 2 glasses of wine each, for a grand total of 275 before tip.
